Apple rolls out macOS Monterey 12.5.1 firmware update

Today, in addition to the iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 firmware updates, Apple also released macOS Monterey 12.5.1 firmware update at the same time. This update fixes security vulnerabilities in macOS Monterey and Apple recommends that all users install it.

Apple notes in the documentation that the firmware update addresses 2 security vulnerabilities. These are the Kernel vulnerability, which allows an attacker to execute arbitrary program source code, which Apple says has begun to be exploited.

In addition, the WebKit vulnerability can execute arbitrary program source code through malicious web content, which Apple says is already being exploited.
