Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus processor revealed: back to TSMC

According to WinFuture, Qualcomm will release an updated version of its Snapdragon 8 flagship processor called Snapdragon 8 Plus (Snapdragon 8 Gen1 Plus in English) in the second half of this year.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus model is SM8475, and the biggest difference between it and Snapdragon 8 is that the former is based on TSMC's 4nm process, which is Qualcomm's return to TSMC's embrace after Snapdragon 870. PS: Snapdragon 8 and Snapdragon 888 are all Samsung OEMs.

In addition to the process changes, Snapdragon 8 Plus is expected to have a small increase in CPU frequency, and the overall Snapdragon 8 will not be too different, and is expected to continue the triple-cluster architecture design of mega-core + large-core + small-core, mega-core is Cortex X2, large-core is Cortex A710, small-core is Cortex A510.

Although it is a small increase, but this will be the most powerful 5G chip in the Android camp, the current Snapdragon 8 Rabbit score exceeded 1 million points, Snapdragon 8 Plus is expected to be a new high comprehensive score.

In addition, Xiaomi, Motorola and other brands will use this chip, the burst of news that Snapdragon 8 Plus terminals will debut in July one after another.
