MIUI 14 change log was leaked: the first batch of upgraded phones list

Xiaomi's latest version of MIUI 14 is soon to be released, no doubt late but better late than never. The Android 13 based MIUI was originally scheduled to debut on December 1 along with the new digital series, however, the launch was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. While we wait for the new date, the Android 13-based MIUI 14 changelog has been revealed online. Let's take a look at the details.

Kacper Skrzypek has shared the full changelog of the MIUI 14 update, which is in English but has been translated into Chinese by Chinese netizens. It shows that the new software will bring some interesting changes. Among the highlights, the log summarizes six points, including MIUI taking up less memory, faster response, better performance of three-party apps, lower power consumption, more personalization elements, end-to-end privacy encryption for over 30 scenarios, and a major revamp of the Smart Center.

In addition, the leaked changelog shows that the OS will have more personalization options and a new widget format that allows for more combinations. Users will now be able to copy text from any gallery image.

Overall privacy and security has also been improved with support for over 30+ scenarios supporting end-to-end privacy, no data stored in the cloud and all actions performed locally on the device.

The changelog also mentions something called "super icons". They are said to give the home screen a new look. It will be interesting to see what these icons are all about. One other thing that caught our eye was a pet or plant on the home screen. It could very well be an animated plant or pet widget that can be added to the home screen.

Xiaomi has also improved the interconnectivity between devices, making it easier to connect the headset to phones, tablets and TVs and switch seamlessly between them. Xiaomi's AI voice assistant has also been revamped. It can now perform complex tasks, help with translation, filter spam calls, and more.
