Windows 11 24H2 RTM is coming: the final release schedule is now available

If you have been looking forward to the upgrade of Windows 11, then good news.

According to foreign media reports, Microsoft has officially confirmed Windows 11 24H2, which will be named "Update 2024" for Windows 11 and is expected to be fully rolled out during September and October this year.

According to the report, Windows 11 24H2 will enter the RTM phase this month, while the first AI PCs based on the Arm architecture will be unveiled in June in the following months.

This news is not surprising considering that Microsoft recently released an internal preview of the Windows Hardware Lab Kit (HLK) for system compatibility testing.

Windows 11 24H2 will introduce support for Wi-Fi 7 hardware for the first time and be the first official version of Windows to support the USB4 v2.0 standard (i.e., 80Gbps rate), and these new features are enough to entice you to upgrade.

Here's the release timeframe for Windows 11 24H2:

  • April 2024: Windows 11 version 24H2 reaches RTM milestone.
  • May 2024: a Windows event is held to unveil the new AI experience.
  • June 2024: first Arm PCs with version 24H2 pre-installed begin shipping.
  • July 2024: Finalize feature set for Windows 11 version 24H2.
  • August 2024: First feature patch for version 24H2 signed.
  • September 2024: Windows 11 version 24H2 + new AI features released to all users.

Since Microsoft partners like Intel and Qualcomm have never made it clear whether we'll see a new generation of Windows, it's possible that these plans were never finalized.
