MediaTek Launches Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform with NVIDIA Technology

Easily Scalable, Highly Integrated Platform for Luxury to Entry-Level Models

March 19, 2024 - MediaTek today unveiled a series of Dimensity Auto cockpit platform system-on-chips (SoCs) incorporating AI technology at the NVIDIA GTC conference: the CX-1, CY-1, CM-1 and CV-1, all of which support NVIDIA DRIVE OS software. With the Dimensity Auto platform, automakers can cover market segments from luxury (CX-1) to entry-level (CV-1), bringing a premium AI cockpit experience to a new generation of smart cars.

The Dimensity Auto cockpit platform chipset integrates the advanced Armv9-A architecture as well as AI computing accelerated by NVIDIA's next-generation GPUs and NVIDIA RTX graphics processing technology to support deep learning capabilities.The Dimensity Auto cockpit platform supports running Large Language Models (LLMs) in the car, which empowers in-vehicle voice assistants, multi-screen displays, driver alertness monitoring, and other advanced AI safety and entertainment applications. Running these applications on the vehicle side not only improves safety, but also enjoys the benefits of high responsiveness and low latency, and the Dimensity Auto cockpit platform is designed with hardware-grade security that complies with newly introduced automotive security standards to further protect user data.

The Dimensity Auto cockpit platform takes the in-car entertainment experience to the next level. The integrated NVIDIA RTX GPU supports ray tracing technology for realistic lighting and visual effects for gaming, as well as AI image zoom and frame generation technology for a clear and smooth gaming experience. In addition, the Dimensity Auto cockpit platform supports advanced network connectivity and memory technology, allowing different passengers to watch streaming video and other content on different displays at the same time, as well as real-time line-of-sight correction and audio enhancement and other advanced video features through AI technology.

For example, the built-in multi-camera HDR ISP supports front, in-vehicle and panoramic cameras for added safety on the road, while the integrated audio DSP supports advanced voice assistant functionality, allowing drivers to access information and use the infotainment system without taking their hands off the steering wheel.
