iPad Pro 2024 coming soon: screen upgraded to OLED

Industry insider Mark Gurman broke the news that Apple will release the iPad Pro 2024 sometime in late March or early April.

Mark Gurman said that it's more likely that Apple will release a new product in April, and that the earliest the current iPadOS 17.4 system can be completed is the end of March, after which the system will have to be sent to the factory and installed on the iPad Pro 2024, a process that could take a couple of weeks.

He also said that Apple will not hold a new product launch event for the iPad Pro, but rather announce it through a press release and put it on sale directly on Apple's website, in the same form of announcement as the M3 MacBook Air.

The biggest change in the iPad Pro 2024 is said to be the ditching of the mini-LED screen and the adoption of OLED for the first time, which is the most powerful iPad in Apple's history.

OLED panels have many advantages over LCD and mini-LED displays, such as deeper blacks, higher contrast, better dynamic range, and more.

Not only that, OLED consumes less power, which will allow the OLED iPad Pro to have a longer battery life than the current model.

Additionally, since the OLED display is thinner than the aforementioned displays, it will also contribute to the overall thinness and lightness of the device.
