Power BI Desktop November Update: Optimized Ribbon and Theme Colors

At the end of each month, Microsoft introduces the many changes made to its Power BI desktop variant during that month. In this November edition, the tech giant introduced a new color UI, an optimized ribbon to make the process of creating reports easier for users, and much more.

The Power BI team changed the color to teal in consideration of its effectiveness in improving contrast and increasing visibility throughout the application, making it more accessible to visually impaired users. In addition to this, there are a number of other new updates around various modules including reporting, modeling, data connectivity, visualization, and more.

It is worth noting that the infrastructure update to WebView2 for Data Analytics Services is also moving closer to GA. Since the plan is to eventually make the switch to WebView2 mandatory for all customers, users who do not currently have WebView2 installed will be shown an installation prompt each time they launch their desktop application.
