Apple’s first major new product of the year : New iMac Pro to launch in June

As Apple's heaviest product in the first half of this year, the iMac Pro may not have the same level of attention as a product like the iPhone SE3, but in terms of official importance, it is of course the former.

According to the latest news, the Apple iMac Pro with Mini-LED display may be launched in June. Apple has been working on a larger-screen version of the iMac for months, and if the June timeline is accurate, it could debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Previous reports suggested the new iMac could launch in the spring, but Young said in late January that he expected the product to launch "in the summer. Note that at the time Young claimed that panel shipments were expected to begin in June, with a possible launch in August or September, but he appears to have moved up the timeline.

The 27-inch iMac will be sold alongside the 24-inch iMac, and to bring it in line with the MacBook Pro, it may be called the iMac Pro as a high-end version. iMac Pro with mini-LED backlighting is expected to have "about 1,000 brightness zones" and "more than 4,000 mini-LEDs.

In addition to the Mini-LED display, the iMac Pro is expected to introduce a redesigned look and the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips found in the 2021 MacBook Pro models.

This comes on the heels of news of a possible 4th M1 chip from Apple, which is said to be equipped with 12 cores.

The M1 uses an 8-core CPU with a 7-core or 8-core onboard GPU. The upgraded M1 Pro uses an 8-core or 10-core CPU, while the top-end M1 Max uses a 10-core CPU, but the Max does distinguish itself with a higher level of memory support and more GPU cores than the Pro, so it makes sense that the new chip could have a 2-10 core split.

In addition, the news also mentions that this time the new iMac body will be more textured and the overall design will be more loving, and the price may be slightly higher.
