Xiaomi’s cell phone global sales jump 33.8% in Q1

Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun said on his personal microblog today that Xiaomi's global cell phone sales in Q1 2024 grew 33.8% year-on-year, thanking Mi fans around the world for their support.

According to the latest report released by IDC, in the first quarter of 2024, global smartphone shipments grew 7.8% year-on-year to 289.4 million units, realizing the third consecutive quarter of growth.

Samsung shipped 60.1 million units in the first quarter, with a market share of 20.8% to regain the first position; Apple, which is in second place, performed relatively poorly, with shipments dropping sharply by nearly 10%, which contrasts sharply with the overall growth of the global smartphone market.

Xiaomi, on the other hand, ranked third in the world, shipments are a substantial increase of 33.8%, market share also reached 14.1%, and Apple only 3.2% gap.

The most people did not expect is ranked fourth Transn, its quarterly shipment growth reached a staggering 84.9%, market share also reached 9.9%, can be described as a typical of the boredom of the rich.

IDC analyst Nabila Popal said Xiaomi is making a strong comeback from its sharp decline over the past two years, and that Transsion has become a stable member of the top 5 through its aggressive growth in international markets.

IDC predicts that as the economy recovers, we are likely to see the top companies gaining share while smaller brands struggle for positioning.
