Microsoft finally announces UUP technology in public preview

In 2016, Microsoft had released an update delivery technology called "Unified Update Platform" (UUP), and once entered the testing phase.

But after that, UUP is like "evaporated" general, no more news.

Recently, Microsoft finally announced that UUP has been quite mature and started to enter the public preview phase.

The reason why UUP technology is still in the background for years is that it can act as a connection organization between Winodws Server Update Service and Microsoft Configuration Manager, thus achieving a fast and seamless update process.

Through this technology, Windows updates will have more processing to the server side, which can effectively reduce the amount of data sent to the client and reduce the processing time, solving the long-standing problem of system updates "stealing traffic" and "eating memory". The problem of "memory-eating" system updates has been solved.

At the same time, with this technology, it is finally possible to complete the update in one reboot.

It is reported that UUP technology is expected to go live early next year, after which all Windows updates will be delivered through this technology.
