Microsoft: 49 years old! What products have you used: windows, office, mouse

On April 4, 1975, Bill Gates and the late Paul Allen officially founded Micro-Soft (later renamed Microsoft) in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Today, the company has grown to become one of the most important technology companies in the world, and it is now 49 years old.

At the end of 1974, Gates and Allen learned about the world's first microcomputer, the Altair 8800, manufactured by Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, through an article in Popular Electronics magazine.

For this discovery, they thought they could develop a version of BASIC that would run on the Altair 8800.

As a result, they moved to Albuquerque in 1975 and formally founded the company that would later be named "Micro-Soft".

Over the past 50 years, Microsoft has released a number of iconic products, including the Windows operating system, the Office suite of software, and a range of hardware products, such as the mouse, Surface, and more.
