iPhone is the latest system out of the box: no need to update manually

According to tipster Mark Gurman, Apple has internally developed a device similar to a flat support mat, which is powered by the Presto system.

Apple retail store employees can reportedly place an unopened iPhone on the Presto device, which powers the iPhone through wireless technology and enables a range of operations, such as turning on the phone, updating iOS, and shutting down the phone.

Mark Gurman noted that Apple has been testing the Presto system since the end of 2023, and it is expected to be officially launched in U.S. retail stores in April, while it will be rolled out to all U.S. retail stores this summer.

The launch of this new system means that unopened iPhones are also guaranteed to experience the latest iOS system at the first time, without the need for users to manually update, which greatly improves the user experience.

As we all know, Apple does not support system rollback, and once an iPhone is upgraded to a new version of iOS, it is usually not possible to roll back to an older version.

Therefore, the new initiative launched by Apple can increase the installation rate of the new version of iOS, thus reducing the fragmentation of the iOS system to a certain extent.
