iOS 18 introduces slow charger warning to extend iPhone battery life

With the release of iOS 18, Apple has also brought a host of improvements to battery health and charging settings for iPhone users.

In previous versions of iOS, Apple allowed users to set an 80% charging limit to help extend the life of their battery, and in iOS 18, Apple has further expanded this feature by adding 85%, 90%, and 95% charging limit options.

These more granular settings provide users with more flexibility to adjust the charging limit based on their personal usage habits and needs to more effectively protect battery health.

Additionally, iOS 18 introduces a new feature that shows if a slow charger is being used to charge an iPhone.

Users can view a battery level chart under the Battery menu in the Settings app, and if a slow charger is currently being used to charge the device, users will see a warning message and the chart itself will update to a new orange color to clearly indicate that a slow charger is being used.

However, it's unclear what charging speed triggers the slow charger warning message.

Nonetheless, this feature could alert users to the charging speed to avoid potential damage to the battery by using an inappropriate charger.
