iOS 18.1 Brings Space Photo Shooting to iPhone 15 Pro Series

9to5Mac has posted an article revealing that the iPhone 15 Pro series will support space photos after upgrading to iOS 18.1 beta 4.

And at the iPhone 16 launch event last week, Apple said that all models in the iPhone 16 series will have the ability to take space photos.

To take a space photo, users will need to open the Camera app, select Space Mode and rotate the iPhone to landscape mode, then choose to record a space video or take a space photo.

Space photos create a more three-dimensional, immersive 3D image that can be viewed back through the Apple Vision Pro headset.

Additionally, the visionOS 2 release this week allows users to create Spatial Photos directly from any image in the gallery.

It's worth noting that third-party products like Spatialify still offer additional functionality in certain areas.

For example, the Spatialify app allows users to record spatial videos in 4K resolution, while Apple's built-in Camera app only supports recording spatial videos in 1080p.

The official version of iOS 18.1 and the first Apple Intelligence features will reportedly be released in October.

Apple Intelligence, as an important part of iOS 18.1, provides users with text proofreading, notification summaries, smart replies and other functions, supporting mail, memos, Safari browser, Pages manuscripts, Keynote lectures and third-party apps, which can simplify and speed up the flow of daily tasks.

However, Apple Intelligence features in the initial stage only support devices and Siri language for English, Chinese support is expected to be realized only in 2025.
