Acer unveils new Swift Edge 16: Ryaen 8000 series + OLED screen

Acer has unveiled its new Swift Edge 16 laptop, incorporating artificial intelligence and innovative features.

Made of magnesium-aluminum alloy, the new laptop is said to have overall dimensions of 357.66 x 245.9 x 12.95 mm and weighs 1.23kg.

The processor can be powered by up to an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U with 8 cores and 16 threads, built on the Zen 4 architecture with base and accelerated frequencies of 3.3 GHz and 5.1 GHz, respectively, and 16MB of L3 cache, which can be paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

As for the screen, the new laptop features a 16-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 3.2K (3200x2000), a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a DCI-P3 color gamut of 100%, certified by VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500.

In addition, it supports Wi-Fi 7, features Microsoft Pluton, and has a built-in 54Wh battery paired with a 65W power adapter.

In terms of ports, the Acer Swift Edge 16 comes with one HDMI 2.1, two USB Type-C (USB4 at 40 Gbps, DisplayPort mode support, and USB charging), two USB Type-A, and a microSD card reader.

Acer says the new Swift Edge 16 (SFE16-44) will be available first in North America in March at a starting price of $1,299.99.
