80.5 million total worldwide traditional PC shipments in Q1 2022

The smartphone market is in an unprecedented slump, and the PC market has also suffered a setback. According to the latest statistics from market research firm IDC, the PC market fell for the first time in the first quarter of this year after two years of roaring ahead at a growth rate of more than 10 percent.

The data show that in the first quarter of 2022, the world's total traditional PC shipments of 80.5 million units, down 4.3 million units or 5.1 percent year-on-year.

However, IDC also pointed out at the same time, this does not mean that the PC market on the downhill slope, but also depends on the subsequent situation, and 80.5 million units itself is still a very good performance.

Manufacturers, although Lenovo lost 9.2% year-on-year, but still ranked first with 18.3 million units shipped, 22.7% share.

Second place HP suffered the worst loss, shipments plummeted 17.8% year-on-year to 15.8 million units, losing a full 3 percentage points to 19.7% share.

Dell and Apple grew 6.1 percent and 4.3 percent, respectively, with a market share of 17.1 percent and 8.9 percent, a fair performance.

Asus surprisingly jumped 17.7 percent, mainly due to the stimulation of notebooks, especially gaming notebooks, share also increased from 5.6 percent to 6.9 percent.

Acer fell 5.9%, basically tied with Asus in fifth place, 0.1 percentage points behind.
