Windows 11 KB5018496 released: Better MSA, added Task Manager shortcuts
Last Tuesday, Microsoft started releasing a preview version of Windows 11 Build 22621.755 (KB5018496). It contains various interesting features, such as improvements to the Microsoft Account (MSA) experience and the introduction of new Task Manager shortcuts. It also contains some hidden features, such as a new taskbar designed specifically for tablets, although a specific tool is required to enable this feature.
For the MSA under Settings, the release will begin to offer more options for managing Microsoft OneDrive subscriptions and related storage alerts. In addition, according to Microsoft, in addition to the obvious changes in the above sections, some users may also notice "visual processing," especially in the taskbar and MSA. the task manager option will also be resurrected in the context menu when users right-click on the taskbar.
Meanwhile, Microsoft's changelog makes no mention of these hidden features, but a report from Neowin claims that using the ViveTool app can activate the tablet's customized taskbar. Nonetheless, it should be noted that doing so may cause instability, so it's best to wait for a stable version of the feature in a future update.
On the other hand, here are the other highlights and improvements included in the release:
