Win10 pushes KB5010415 update: memory leak fixed

Today, Microsoft pushed Build 19044.1566 (KB5010415) update for Win10, which is the first patch pushed after Microsoft announced that it officially abandoned version 20H2.

KB5010415 is an optional cumulative update that addresses several bugs that currently exist in Win10 and brings two new features.

In terms of new features, the update adds support for hot add and remove non-volatile memory (NVMe) and allows users to share cookies between IE mode and standard mode in the Edge browser.

Both feature updates are mainly aimed at enterprise or advanced users, and the bug fixes are obviously a bit more important for regular users.

With this update, the System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) memory leak due to wmipicmp.dll is fixed, and the issue of Windows Server 2016 stopping responding when using feature VDI is also resolved.

In addition, Win10's search function has been optimized to solve some of the previous bugs, and several problems such as virtual machine live migration and WebDav redirection deadlocks have been fixed.

The update also includes an update for users who will upgrade to Win11, resolving the "0x80090011" error that previously occurred when checking the TPM status.

As an optional update, KB5010415 will be integrated into subsequent major release updates, so if this fix is not necessary, skipping the update is not a bad option.
