Windows 11 Preview Experience members can now use their mobile device’s camera as a PC camera

Microsoft recently announced a major update that provides Win11 Preview Experience members with a new feature: support for using a mobile device's camera as a PC camera.

This feature has been available to Preview Experience members since March 1 of this year and was announced today for all Windows 11 Preview systems.

All current Win11 Preview Experience versions now support the ability to call a phone's and tablet's camera, meaning that users can utilize their Android phone or tablet's camera in any video application on a Windows 11 PC.

The introduction of this feature provides users with the flexibility to utilize their mobile device's camera on their PC through a wireless connection, bringing great convenience.

Users can also switch between front and rear cameras and pause the live stream if the connection is interrupted; in addition to enjoying the beauty and filter effects provided from the mobile device.

To use this feature, users need to make sure that their mobile device is running Android 9.0 or later, and that the version of the "Link to Windows" app is 1.24012 or later.

Enabling this feature is simple: on your PC, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile Devices, then select " Manage Devices" and allow your computer to access your Android phone.
