Win11 task manager bug is fixed: NVIDIA graphics occupancy is finally normal

Earlier this year, Win11 22H2's Task Manager had a bug with NVIDIA GPU readings, which caused the idle graphics card's occupancy readings to spike.

The bug was later "claimed" by NVIDIA and said a fix was in the works.

NVIDIA released driver update 526.98, which not only adds support for RTX 4080 graphics cards, but also fixes the bug, and now NVIDIA users will not see abnormal data when they open Task Manager to view GPU readings.

Prior to the fix, the bug caused idle NVIDIA graphics cards to be nearly 100% occupied, and the cards were essentially idle and in the normal temperature range.

Some users inferred that the GPU readings in Task Manager were faulty, and that the displayed usage was "reversed" from the actual runtime, which in the case of the screenshot is probably around 4%.

Unfortunately, although the bug has been fixed, NVIDIA has not informed users of the cause of the bug.
