NVIDIA grabs the entry graphics card market RTX 3050 shrinks to 6GB of video memory in new variant

According to media reports, NVIDIA is preparing an entry-level graphics card that is going to compete with the likes of the RX 6600 and Arc A580/A750 GPUs.

The report mentions that the new RTX 3050 GPU will be based on the GA107-325-Kx SKU and feature a PG173 SKU16 PCB with 2048 cores.

The new RTX 3050 is said to be priced under $200, but along with the price cut, NVIDIA has also shrunk the video memory, which was 8GB to now 6GB.

Additionally, the new card's core clock frequency will remain at 1,470 MHz (it continues to retain quad-display output capabilities, including three DP and one HDMI output.) , which is 17% lower than the 8GB memory version of the RTX 3050, and is expected to consume mostly between 70 and 100 watts of power. The

NVIDIA is preparing new cards together with the RTX 4090 D (special for the Chinese market), RTX 4080 SUPER, 4070 Ti SUPER , 4070 SUPER, and all of these should be expected to be released around CES next year.
