New Windows 11 features are here: more comprehensive and flexible file compression

Microsoft has released the latest Windows 11 Canary Build 26040 preview update.

With this update, Windows 11 further enhances the ability to compress files.

As you can see from the image, users can right-click on a file and find the new option "Compress To" -> "Additional Options" in the menu.

Clicking on it will bring up a new wizard page that allows the user to select the following options for compression:

1, Compress destination directory

2、Compression format: including 7zip, TAR and ZIP (but RAR is not supported yet);

3, compression algorithms / methods: including Store, Deflate, BZip2, LZMA1, LZMA2, PPMd, etc., depending on the compression format selected;

4, compression level: from 0 to 9;

5, whether to retain the symbolic links and other content under the hard links.
