Microsoft’s garage project Journal has now been turned around and updated to match the Windows 11 UI

The Microsoft Garage program, dedicated to letting Microsoft employees spread their creativity, has successfully incubated the Microsoft Journal project. To celebrate the project's transition, the Microsoft Journal team has released an update to give it a look and feel that matches the Windows 11 operating system and adds additional colors and materials.

For those unfamiliar, here's a brief introduction to Microsoft Journal. As a digital inking solution, the application is designed to make it easy for users to record ideas, draw, and add annotations to PDFs at any time.

In fact, statistically speaking, the development team has seen a 59% PDF document editing rate (and 41% blank documents).

To accelerate the software and improve privacy features, Microsoft Journal uses an artificial intelligence-based solution to recognize editing and semantic gestures on the device.

We are entering an era of computer-assisted reasoning, and the future of AI will significantly improve the efficiency of everyone's tasks," commented Stevie Bathiche, a researcher and leader in applied science and technology at Microsoft.
