Microsoft Win11 ad again: this time to promote the OneDrive network disk

Microsoft has been caught by users more than once advertising its own software and services in the system, and now it's doing it again.

This time, the ads appear in the user menu in the Win11 Start menu, and some users can see a highlighted reminder of the "Back up your files" option by clicking on the user avatar.

However, after users clicked on the option, what was displayed was not any new feature of Win11, but a promotion related to Microsoft OneDrive web drive.

Although Microsoft, as the developer and operator of Windows, does theoretically have the right to promote the service in the system, this behavior of disguising the promotion information as a feature and highlighting it has still caused some users' dissatisfaction.

Currently, some users believe that Microsoft should avoid misleading users on ads or should give users the option to turn off all ads.

However, the fact is that Microsoft currently only allows users to turn off promotional suggestions content on some pages such as the Start menu, and does not completely eradicate all possible advertising content.
