Microsoft Teams finally comes to the Microsoft Store, but not for personal use under Windows 11

The app section of the Microsoft App Store has been an embarrassment since the first day it went live years ago, and even now with Microsoft's whole effort to improve it, it still looks like a dumping ground. Today Microsoft Teams has finally landed on the Microsoft Store, but embarrassingly, you using Windows 11 will encounter unexpected problems when you go to the official app store to download the popular collaboration app Microsoft Teams.

The app is indeed now available for download from the Microsoft Store, but the difference is that if you are running Windows 11 and want Teams for personal use, then the above is all for naught.

The description on the Microsoft Teams app page in the Microsoft Store says:

Whether you're working on a project with a teammate or planning a weekend with a loved one, Microsoft Teams helps people get together so they can get things done. It's the only app that brings together chat, meetings, files, tasks, and calendars in one place - so you can easily connect with people and put plans into action. Bring family and friends together to manage tasks around the house, or plan a surprise birthday party. Collaborate with teammates with secure meetings, file collaboration, and built-in cloud storage. You can do it all in Microsoft Teams.

Sound good? Continue to the next page:

If you're a Windows 10 user, you'll be able to download and access the Teams app from the Microsoft Store for personal or work and school accounts. If you are a Windows 11 user, you will only be able to download the Teams app for work and school accounts from the Store. To download the Teams application for personal use, please visit this page.
