Meta Quest 2 surges $100

Reality Labs announced plans to raise the price of Meta Quest 2 by $100 starting next month.

Reality Labs said, "Starting in August, the 128GB and 256GB versions of the Meta Quest 2 will be priced at $399.99 and $499.99, respectively."

"In addition to these changes, we will also be increasing the price of Meta Quest 2 accessories and refurbished units."

Reality Labs also said that customers who purchase a new Meta Quest 2 between August and December and activate the device by January 31, 2023 will receive Rhythm Lightsaber for free.

Explaining its decision to raise the price, the company said that the costs required to manufacture and ship its products have been rising.

"By adjusting the price of Quest 2, we can continue to increase our investment in groundbreaking research and new product development that will take the VR industry to new heights."

"We have an ambitious roadmap for VR hardware, starting with the launch of our high-end headset, Project Cambria, later this year. We plan to release the next generation of Meta Quest after that."
