MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will debut on November 8 against Apple A16 and Snapdragon 8 generation SoC

MediaTek has scheduled an event for November 8 at 14:30 local time (12:00 IST). While it didn't reveal what's coming, the teaser image shows what looks like a chipset, which we think is the Dimensity 9200, the successor to the Dimensity 9000. leaked synthetic benchmark results shared by ITHome suggest that the Dimensity 9200 will have a huge GPU performance upgrade compared to the Dimensity 9000+. This new chip is expected to be as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 generation and is thought to have surpassed the powerful Apple A16 bionic chip.

The chipset is said to have scored over 1.26 million points at Antutu, a 26% improvement over the Dimensity 9000. Sources say that the SoC will feature the Cortex-X3 main CPU core, which is said to be at least a 25% improvement in raw performance.

Is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC launching on November 8?

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset is allegedly paired with the Immortalis-G715, which according to recent rumors, will gain support for ray tracing. Furthermore, leaked GFXBench results show that the chipset has managed to render the 1080p Manhattan 3.0 benchmark at 328fps and managed to score 228fps in the Manhattan 3.1 test.

In comparison, Apple's A16 Bionic was able to achieve 280fps and 200fps in these benchmarks. the Dimensity 9000+ scored 220fps and 160fps. finally, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 scored 281fps and 188fps respectively.

These impressive scores are reportedly due to the aforementioned ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU, which is said to support ray tracing. For the CPU, the Dimensity 9200 is said to have opted for the new Cortex-X3 cluster with frequencies of 3.05GHz, 2.85GHz and 2.00GHz.
