It’s not just third-party UI modding software: Win11 24H2 also pulls the plug on a whole bunch of things

Recently, Windows 11 24H2 quietly blacklisted quite a few third-party UI modification software, disallowing them from being installed and used, or even upgrading the system without uninstalling them, such as StartAllBack and ExplorerPatcher.

In fact, digging into the appraiser.sdb file reveals that Windows 11 24H2 prohibits much more than that, as well as quite a few drivers, applications, and hardware IDs.

There has always been such a list for Windows, because certain hardware and software are not compatible with the new system, and blocking them ensures stability after upgrading, but this time the list has been significantly expanded, not only adding third-party UI modification software for the first time, but even iCloud services, AMD graphics card/Intel audio/Realek NIC drivers, which are already compatible with the 23H2 version of the .

In addition, Microsoft's own Copilot are among them.

The specific list is as follows:

  • - ConisioAdmin.exe (Solidworks PDM)
  • - EaseUSDiskCopy.exe (EaseUS Disk Copy Software)
  • - ep?odwm.exe (Explorer Patcher)
  • - iCloudServices.exe (iCloud File Sharing Service)
  • - RadeonSoftware.exe (AMD Graphics Card Driver)
  • - StartAllBackCfg.exe (StartAllBack)
  • - Multi-mon + Copilot (Microsoft)
  • - MergeSdb (Microsoft)
  • - Intel IntcOED.sys (Intel)
  • - Intel IntcAudioBus.sys (Intel) (%WinDir%-System32-drivers-IntcAudioBus.sys)
  • - Realtek 8192su Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (Realtek) (%WinDir%-System32-drivers-RTL8192su.sys)

As for hardware IDs, there are too many to list.
