Huawei unveils messaging reception patent: fewer wakeups Longer phone life

Recently, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. published a patent for "a data synchronization method and related devices and systems".

According to the abstract of the patent, the method comprises: a first device in a communication system sends water level information to a center device in the communication system in the event of a data update.

The water level information is used to indicate the updated status of said data, and the center device is used to maintain the water level information for each device in the communication system.

A second device in the communication system obtains the water level information from the central device in case there is a need for data synchronization; the second device performs data synchronization based on the water level information.

Huawei says that this application is based on a central device for water level synchronization without having to wake up all other devices in the system every time a data update occurs in a device, thus avoiding frequent waking up of each device in the system for data synchronization, reducing the number of times that a connection is established between the devices, and reducing the loss of power consumption due to data synchronization.

However, whether this method will lead to delayed message reception needs to be verified in practice.
