Google may try to make Fuchsia OS inherit parts of Android

Fuchsia OS is a name that should not be new to anyone who has been following Google's trends.

This new operating system, which first appeared in 2017 to replace Android, is quite similar to Google's internal "Hongmeng" project, but it is as mired in the mud, with no public beta version available.

Although Fuchsia OS is still in an undisclosed state until now, the latest information from the development team suggests that Google may try to make Fuchsia OS inherit some of the content of Android.

Recently, the Fuchsia development team submitted a new merge called "ADB on Fuchsia", and from the content, the development team plans to allow the use of Android's ADB tool to manage Fuchsia devices.

For developers, this decision will allow Fuchsia OS to inherit the Android development ecosystem, reducing the time and technical costs of migrating software to the new system.

For Google, this will undoubtedly avoid the software ecology problems caused by the reluctance of developers to move the platform at the beginning of the new system, avoiding Fuchsia OS from folding like Windows Phone because of ecological problems.

It is worth mentioning that Huawei's HarmonyOS also uses the same form of support for Android ADB to lower the migration threshold for developers and smoothly ensure the software ecology of the new system.

For the development team of Fuchsia OS, this certainly proves the feasibility of the strategy.
