First Macs with Touch Bar dropped

Today, Apple officially updated its list of obsolete products with the addition of eight new MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac models launched between 2015 and 2016.

This means that the MacBook Pro, the first MacBooks with the Touch Bar, have been completely abandoned by Apple.

One of Apple's classic designs, the Touch Bar was first unveiled on the MacBook Pro in 2016. In appearance, the Touch Bar is a touch display located above the MacBook Pro C-side keyboard, enabling users to directly click to use fixed brightness, volume, Siri and other functions, as well as customize the Touch Bar's function icons or view input associative suggestions.

Unfortunately, on the 2016 version of MacBook Pro, the Touch Bar has obvious operational delays as well as lagging, not to mention that because of the problem of heat dissipation structure, the temperature of the area where the Touch Bar is located remains high for a long time, which greatly affects the using experience.

At present, Apple has removed the Touch Bar from the high-end MacBook Pro models, but users can still see the feature on the M2 version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

In addition to the 2016 version of the MacBook Pro, the following devices have been included in the list of obsolete products.

  • -MacBook (12-inch, early 2016)
  • -MacBook Air (13-inch, early 2015)
  • -MacBook Pro (13-inch, early 2015)
  • -MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, two Thunderbolt ports)
  • -MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, four Thunderbolt Thunderbolt)
  • -MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)
  • -iMac (21.5-inch, late 2015)
  • -iMac (27-inch, Retina 5K, late 2015)

Generally, Apple places products on the obsolete product list five years after they are discontinued, and obsolete products are usually not available for repair at Apple Store retail stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers.
