Apple iOS 17.4 first beta released this week! Europe to open up app sideloading

Apple just pushed out iOS 17.3 globally a few days ago, bringing a wave of features such as new anti-theft protection.

And the next iOS 17.4 will be even heavier, the news said Apple will release the first beta this week, the biggest highlight is that it will support app sideloading in Europe.

According to the EU's Digital Marketplace Act (DMA), Apple must complete the rectification by March 7 to open up third-party app stores and app sideloading in Austria, Belgium, Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and other European countries.

According to the provisions of the Act, if Apple does not solve such suspected monopoly problems, it will face a fine of up to 10% of its annual turnover.

However, for the time being, Apple will not easily open the sideloading to other regions, because the App Store can bring in huge revenues through the "Apple tax" every year, is Apple's money tree.

It's worth noting that Apple has also recently committed to opening up NFC in the European Union to allow third-party payment programs to use NFC, which is also a groundbreaking first.
