2022 LG Gram 16/17 laptops welcome RTX 2050 external graphics card option

LG Electronics has just announced its new Gram series of laptops with external graphics. The first in the LG Gram family, both the 17Z90Q and 16Z90Q models feature the powerful Nvidia RTX 2050 external graphics card. The 16-inch model has a large 90 Wh battery and weighs 1.285 kg, while the 17-inch model weighs 1.435 kg.

The new model features a 16:10 aspect ratio IPS panel with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA), complemented by an anti-glare design.

With Intel's 12th generation Core i7 processor, it can be about 70% faster than the 11th generation SKU. For storage, a combination of low-power memory + PCIe Gen 4 SSD is used, claiming 22% better performance than the competition.

Notably, the new LG Gram offers AI-based analytics after the camera detects faces and gaze for the first time - such as automatically locking the screen when the user temporarily leaves, or blurring the screen/displaying a warning message when someone is detected behind them.

In addition, when a separate monitor is connected for multitasking, the notebook can automatically move the mouse pointer, or the active window on which the user is working, to the screen currently in view.

Finally, the new model will be available in black, white and charcoal color options. In terms of price, the LG Gram 16 model with 16GB RAM + 256GB SSD configuration is between KRW 2.29~2.49 million (RMB 12~13,000), while the 17-inch model with the same configuration is between KRW 2.39~2.59 million (RMB 1.25~13.5 million).
