2022 iPad Pro will support MagSafe with MiniLED screen to improve battery life and use M2 chip

Apple is expected to launch the new iPad Pro in September (or November.) There has been a lot of information about the new iPad Pro in the past few months, and there will be new features. Today 9to5Mac writes about the new features that are expected to appear on the 2022 iPad Pro.

Support MagSafe

A core feature on the new MacBook Pro and iPhone is compatibility with MagSafe. On the 2022 iPad Pro, we may see Apple deploy the technology on the tablet.

While it was initially thought that the company would make a full glass back cover for the device, that would make the iPad Pro more fragile and heavy, so Apple won't do it for now. According to 9to5Mac, Apple plans to make a larger logo on the back of the iPad with a glass finish. This will help transmit power through the tablet.

Adopt Mini LCD screen material

When rumors about the 2022 iPad Pro started, it was thought that both tablets would come with miniLED screens. Now, analysts Ross Young and Ming-Chi Kuo say Apple will still use LCD technology on the smaller 11-inch iPad due to high production costs.

For the rest of the year, Apple will only offer one product in this category," Mr. Kuo said in March. While it was previously thought that Apple would also introduce MiniLED in the 11-inch iPad Pro, we no longer believe that will be the case, at least not this year. Apple is reportedly aiming its MiniLED at larger, more expensive screen models."

Improved range

9to5Mac was able to confirm that Apple is working on a new iPad Pro with a larger battery, as some users have complained that the wonderfully controlled keyboard causes excessive battery drain.

While Apple always promises 10 hours of battery life, that means this iPad can handle more demanding tasks for longer - or at least, longer with the wonderfully controlled keyboard and Apple Pencil connected.

M2 Chip

After Apple surprised everyone by adding the M1 chip to the iPad Pro, the company is likely to add an updated version of the processor to the upcoming 2022 iPad Pro. Of course, this iPad will come with the M2 chip, and 9to5Mac sources confirm that the new iPad will come with this new processor.
