14 “large screen iPad exposure: face recognition under the screen

Apple has long been rumored to be working on a 14-inch iPad, and now it looks like it's working on a 14-inch iPad, with more features to come.

Display analyst Ross Young revealed today that Apple is planning a number of major upgrades to its iPad lineup over the next few years, including new 14-inch and 11-inch versions with OLED screens, TrueDepth and foldable screens.

Apple plans to upgrade its 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro directly to OLED technology in 2024, according to the leaks. Apple believes the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro will outsell the 12.9-inch OLED iPad Pro.

In addition, according to the analyst, on-screen TrueDepth will come first to the iPad, followed by the iPhone. On the iPad, because of the huge internal space, it's better to use face ID under the screen, and the 14-inch version will probably be the first.

Apple typically tests new features first and then makes them widely available if they work, so when face ID is successful on the iPad, it will come to the iPhone line.

Finally, Young thinks the foldable iPad will be the first, and in the same way that apple will launch the iPhone when the technology is tested, similar rumors have been heard many times before that Apple is preparing a foldable iPhone.
