Huawei HarmonyOS began to fully detach from Android: unadapted apps turned into virtual machines

The development of Huawei HarmonyOS new system has been in the spotlight, and in recent times Huawei has joined forces with many of its partners to make significant progress in the adaptation work.

A blogger said, Huawei HarmonyOS to start a comprehensive departure from Android, all adapted Hongmeng native apps manufacturers, all converted to Hap format, no adapted applications will be all converted to virtual machines.

The blogger also revealed that Huawei will be launching a new laptop in the near future - the MateBook D14 - with an Intel chip. This is reminiscent of the hotly rumored HarmonyOS PC system.

According to foreign media reports, Huawei is developing a dedicated HarmonyOS PC system, which could debut on consumer platforms in 2024.

Huawei has reportedly started recruiting HarmonyOS NEXT Developer Preview for internal testing now. Some digital bloggers have said that HarmonyOS NEXT and HarmonyOS PC will be the key products of Huawei's system in 2024.

Foreign media speculation, perhaps we can see the official release of the system on January 18th.

Currently, the HarmonyOS ecosystem includes smartphones, tablets, headphones, smartwatches, smart car systems and other IoT devices. According to the foreign media, so far Huawei PC products have been dependent on Microsoft Windows, and while the corresponding operating system offers amazing functionality for PCs, it's time to use a self-developed system with better features and functionality. However, Huawei has never given any official word on the matter.
