Outlook email attachments will also take up space on the cloud

Recently, Microsoft announced that it will make a round of major adjustments to Outlook mailbox, which may lead to the storage space of OneDrive cloud drive snowballing.

According to Microsoft, after Feb. 2, 2023, all attachments received by Outlook mailbox will be counted as users' OneDrive storage space.

At the same time, Microsoft said that in order to help users better transition, after February 2, 2023, it will provide all users with 50GB of Outlook storage space for free for one year to ensure that users have enough time to clean up and back up their files.

But even so, if users have the habit of hoarding emails, after the implementation of the adjustment, the free storage space is likely to be quickly consumed, and they can only choose to open an Office 365 subscription membership or clean up their emails.

In addition to Outlook mailbox attachments taking up space on OneDrive cloud drive, Microsoft will no longer allow users to bind personalized emails to Outlook inboxes.

Therefore, it is best for users to adjust their personalized email addresses to Outlook email addresses before Microsoft officially makes the adjustment.
