Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition fails to reach the claimed charging speed of 210W in actual tests

The Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro series debuted last week. The Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition is the world's first phone to support ultra-fast charging at 210W. This is much superior to the 150W speed currently available in the market. The brand claims that it can fully charge the built-in 4300mAh battery in just 9 minutes, which is really incredible. However, the actual charging speed is a bit lower than what was promised, but still far ahead of the competition.

The folks at Charger Labs tested the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. The results showed that the phone was able to reach a peak charging power of 184.85W in three minutes. However, the speeds weren't consistent across the board as they quickly dropped to lower wattages.

At the aforementioned 210W charging speed, the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition was able to reach a peak speed of 184W. This speed didn't last long before it started to drop; however, the speed was still higher than 120 W. The results showed that the phone was able to fully charge in 10 minutes and 10 seconds, which is 1 minute more than the claimed 9 minute mark.

In the current market situation, these speeds are ahead of the competition. The report further mentions that the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition did not generate excessive heat while charging, it reached a peak temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius in the test.
