Tony Fadell: iPhone was rightly asked by EU to switch to USB-C interface

Two days ago, the European Parliament passed a bill that requires all cell phones, tablets and other smart portable devices to use the USB-C interface from the end of 2024.

Fadell pointed out that while Apple doesn't like being ordered to do something by a third party, the EU's move is for environmental purposes, and that's a big context for Apple that they'll be happy to accept.

Fadell stressed that USB-C is the general trend and is a choice that benefits consumers.
