Microsoft is improving Windows 11’s slow taskbar response

The taskbar has been an essential part of Windows since Windows 95, and has radically changed in Windows 11.

In Windows 11, the taskbar has been rebuilt, functions are moved to the center, and the appearance is more beautiful. But when booting up the device, Windows 11's taskbar is too slow to respond, and pinned apps or icons may not load immediately.

Some netizens pointed out that the taskbar on Windows 11 has an obvious design error, which takes 2-3 seconds, sometimes even 5 seconds, to load the icon, which is even slower on older hardware.

Thankfully, Microsoft is aware of the potential performance issues with the taskbar and is working on a new feature that will sync the taskbar with the immersive shell.

So when you start the device, restart explorer.exe (taskbar), and pin/delete applications, the taskbar becomes faster.

The Windows Taskbar team is working with the rest of Microsoft on the design to ensure a consistent experience.

Additionally, the next update for Windows 11, "Version 22H2," will bring back drag-and-drop support for the taskbar.
