Apple iPhone 14 will be made in China two months after the release of the product made in India

Earlier this month, we heard that Apple was planning to start production of the iPhone 14 in India and China at the same time. this was due to politics between Apple chipmaker TSMC and Taiwanese assembler PEGATRON. Now, a Bloomberg report adds that Apple plans to produce the iPhone 14 in India two months after the Chinese-made iPhone 14 is released, thus closing the technology gap between the two countries.

The report added that Apple is looking for an alternative to China to manufacture the new iPhones, citing China's foreign ties with the United States and a nationwide lockdown that disrupted economic activity. Also, the first batch of iPhone 14s from India could be launched in late October or November. However, one challenging target the company may be targeting is from October 24.

Foxconn Technology Group, the main maker of the iPhone, studied the process of shipping components from China to its factory in Chennai, India. Simultaneous production of the iPhone 14 may not be possible between the two countries, the report said, as one of the company's possible challenges in making iPhones in India is kept secret. It added that Apple goes to great lengths to keep its iPhone details private, and replicating the same level of privacy at its Chinese factories in another country could be difficult.

Finally, the report raises another product confidentiality risk that Apple should be concerned about: Indian customs officials, who routinely inspect shipments to verify that imported materials match their declarations. The plan to launch simultaneously in India and China is unrealistic for this year's iPhone to make new iPhones, although it remains a long-term goal.
