Windows 11 quietly removes Android subsystem

Microsoft's low-key update of the technical support document shows that the Android subsystem (WSA) in Windows 11 has been removed, before the widely publicized, deeply valued PC running Android cell phone applications and games on the vision is still broken.

Through the PC, Android cell phone has been the vision of the entire industry, both PC manufacturers or cell phone manufacturers are in a variety of attempts, Microsoft has a greater responsibility and obligation to do a good job of the underlying support.

In fact, Microsoft has been trying to PC and cell phone platform interoperability interconnection, Windows Mobile system was born for this purpose, but unfortunately, faltered, and now the efforts of Windows 11 also came to naught, the future will be more difficult.

As per the timeline given by Microsoft, WSA will no longer be supported from March 5, 2025, which means that neither the Amazon Appstore, nor any WSA-based Android apps, games, will work.

Amazon has also synchronized to confirm that the Appstore will be abandoned, and in fact it's disappearing from the Microsoft Store store right now.

Some industry insiders said that the main reason why Microsoft abandoned WSA was that the adoption rate was too low, the users were too few, and the ecosystem simply didn't work.

Obviously, this is typical Microsoft behavior - develop a half-baked product, no one uses it, cut it down.
