Samsung holds off on charging for Galaxy AI: focuses on letting users experience AI

According to media reports, Samsung has made it clear that it will not be considering whether to charge for Galaxy AI in the future, and that Samsung's focus is on getting more users to experience these AI features.

Samsung previously introduced the Galaxy AI feature that supports instant translation at the Galaxy Unpacked launch event. Samsung's press release clarified that the Galaxy AI feature would be available for free on supported Samsung Galaxy devices until the end of 2025, but did not specify whether it would continue to be free after 2026.

This statement, however, has sparked a lot of concern and worry among consumers.

In response, the head of Samsung Electronics' MX division said that this year Samsung is not currently planning to charge for the Galaxy AI feature, and is instead focusing on expanding users' experience with the AI feature.

However, the head also said that the issue of charging for AI features will be reconsidered once users are willing to pay for higher AI performance.
