Huawei, Alipay announce partnership: HarmonyOS native app development launched

Since September this year, Huawei released the HarmonyOS NEXT system, which only supports the Harmony kernel and Harmony system apps, the plan to develop Harmony native apps has been officially launched.

At present, many head manufacturers have announced their cooperation with Huawei to start the development of Harmony native applications.

Today, according to domestic media reports, a few days ago, Alipay and Huawei terminal announced cooperation to start Alipay Harmony native application development based on HarmonyOS NEXT.

It is understood that Huawei's Managing Director, CEO of Terminal BG and Chairman of Intelligent Vehicle Solutions BU, Mr. Yu Chengdong, also attended the launch ceremony.

Ni Xingjun, president of Alipay business group, said that the cooperation between the two sides will further meet the needs of users to enjoy smart life services in different terminals and different scenarios.

It is reported that the HarmonyOS NEXT system base is fully self-research, removing the traditional Android AOSP code, which means that the system will no longer be compatible with Android applications.

At the same time, this is also one of the reasons why Huawei has accelerated the pace of cooperation with many manufacturers to launch the development of Harmony native applications, to create an application ecology belonging to HarmonyOS NEXT.

Zhu Yonggang, President of Huawei Terminal Cloud Services, has predicted that the upgraded users of the HarmonyOS NEXT developer preview will exceed 100 million in the coming year, which means that more and more Harmony native apps will be launched in the future.

According to the official plan, HarmonyOS NEXT will be open to all developers in the first quarter of 2024.
