[Win] PowerShell Core 7.3.0 – Microsoft’s open source system optimization tool
From the early MS-DOS to the later Windows CMD to today's PowerShell, Microsoft has continued to refine its terminal tools and now has released the new PowerShell 7.0, open source cross-platform for managing heterogeneous environments and hybrid clouds on each platform of Windows, Linux and macOS.
PowerShell 7.0 is very much changed and has many new features such as pipeline parallelization, new operators, simplified and dynamic error view, import module compatibility layer, automatic new version notifications, and more.
NET Core 2.x has also been unified to 3.1, which brings a large number of . NET Framework APIs, especially on the Windows platform, and significantly improves compatibility with existing PowerShell versions.
Microsoft says that all modules supported by PowerShell Core 6.x will work seamlessly with PowerShell 7.0.
In terms of operating systems, PowerShell's cross-platform features are further enhanced to support not only desktop-level Windows 7, 8.1, 10, server-level Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, but also Apple macOS 10.13 and newer versions, and Linux distributions Linux distributions include Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / CentOS 7, Fedora 30+, Debian 9+, Ubuntu LTS 16.04+, and Alpine Linux 3.8+.
ARM32 and ARM64 versions of Debian and Ubuntu can also run, as can Arch and Kali Linux, but they are not yet officially supported, so for now you can only use community homebrew versions.
