Chrome will stop supporting Win7/8.1 next year

Since Microsoft announced to stop the mainstream support for Win7, more and more applications have started to announce to give up the support for the platform.

Recently, Chrome also announced that it will give up Win7 and Win8.1 systems next year.

It is reported that the browser will no longer provide support for Win 7 and Win8.1 after the official version of Chrome 110 is pushed out on February 7 next year, which is consistent with Microsoft's ending support for Win7 ESU and Win8.1 extensions on January 10 next year.

After that, only users of Win10 and Win11 will be able to update Chrome browser version and get new maintenance patches and feature updates.

Chrome officials said that although users of Win7, Win8.1 and other old versions of systems can still install and use old versions of Chrome normally, they cannot get new security and usability updates, and the security and stability of data cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, Chrome recommends users to upgrade to the system version above after WIn10 as soon as possible.
