Redmi Note 12 will use IMX766+OIS

Today, Xiaomi Group China President Lu Weibing announced that the Redmi Note 12 series is equipped with Sony IMX766 main camera, which also supports OIS optical stabilization.

When Lu Weibing interacted with netizens, he pointed out that the Redmi Note 12 series uses the IMX766 + OIS optical stabilization set, and the image level is comparable to the 4000-6000 yuan flagship of each family this year.

The official stressed that IMX766 is the darling of the flagship image, but also the "generation of god U" of mobile photography.

This Sensor has a 1/1.56" large base for more light intake and a 50 megapixel lens. It supports all-pixel omnidirectional focus technology for more accurate and faster focusing, and AI focus lock support.

Another feature of the IMX766 is its support for DOL-HDR, which uses "quasi-simultaneous" short and long exposure sampling, where long and short exposures are performed in a near-overlapping fashion.

This greatly reduces the interval between long and short exposures, while preserving the simultaneity of the overlapping images and solving the problem of deviations between exposures in overlapping areas.

What's more, the Redmi Note 12 series supports OIS optical stabilization. With the addition of OIS optical stabilization, the phone's safe shutter time for taking photos can become longer, improving the image quality in dark light scenes while also ensuring the film success rate.
