Windows 10 2022 annual update version number Build 19045 officially released!

In a very low-key move, Microsoft today announced that it is officially distributing the Windows 10 2022 annual update (Windows 10 version 22H2).

Somewhat depressingly, Microsoft didn't list the details of the update, saying only that it "delivers a limited range of new features and functionality through a familiar, fast and reliable update experience.

This means that Windows 10 2022 doesn't have any changes that are worth writing home about or drawing attention to, and it's probably just to brush up on its presence.

The logic behind this is that Windows 10 20H1 will be discontinued on December 13 of this year and 20H2 on May 9 of next year. Discontinuing support means that no more monthly and quality patches will be distributed, which will add uneasiness for genuine users to use.

And 22H2 is supported for at least 18 months, or 24 months if you are an enterprise and education user.

After the upgrade, Windows 10 22H2 corresponds to a detailed version number of Build 19045. If you want to upgrade, you can either actively check for updates (note that you bypassed the Win11 22H2 push) or download the upgrade tool or ISO image file from Microsoft's website:
