New feature of iOS 16.1: Real-time display of game scores, takeaway orders, etc. on the lock screen interface
In the iOS 16.1 Beta that went live yesterday, Apple enabled a new Live Activities feature that allows iPhone users to see what’s going on on the lock screen in real time, such as the latest match scores, takeaway order information, and more.
In the TV app, tapping the "Follow" button during a sporting event brings up a Live Activity on the lock screen with a live updated scoreboard and game-by-game action, such as baseball Athlete strikes out on a fastball.
Live Activity is displayed at the bottom of the lock screen on iPhone 13 and earlier. On the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Live Activity will appear at the top of Dynamic Island's lock screen, a new pill-shaped area around the Face ID sensor and front-facing camera that expands to display system alerts and other content.
