Apple plans to introduce Lockdown Mode to deal with hacking attacks

Beijing time July 7 early morning news, Apple Inc. said Wednesday that it plans to release a new feature called "Lockdown Mode" (Lockdown Mode) this fall, designed to add a new layer of protection for users and prevent sophisticated hacking attacks. Previously, a cell phone spy software called "Pegasus" invasion of more than 50 countries around the world, the number of people may be monitored up to 50,000.

Pegasus, developed by Israeli software surveillance company NSO, is used to spy on more influential people such as journalists, lawyers and politicians. This is a great threat to the user's privacy.

"NSO Group, the maker of Pegasus, has been sued by Apple and is on a trade blacklist by U.S. officials.

Lockdown mode will include the following protection features when released.

Messages: Most types of message attachments will be blocked, except for images. Some features such as link previews will be disabled.

Web Browsing: Some complex web technologies, such as just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compilers, will be disabled unless the user whitelists trusted sites in Lockdown mode.

Apple Services: Invitations and service requests such as FaceTime calls to the user will be blocked unless the user has previously initiated a call or request to the other party.

Wired connections to computers or accessories will also be blocked when iPhone is locked.

When Lockdown mode is on, profiles cannot be installed and the device cannot be added to Mobile Device Management (MDM).
